On a chilly and overcast November day, I had the pleasure of taking engagement photos for Laura and Jeremy.  We had postponed from the week before which had rain all day and a couple of other days due to bad weather.  You probably can’t tell from the pictures, but it was only about 3-4 degreec C.  And while I was bundled up in my winter coat, with wool hat, etc.,  Laura and Jeremy brought coats as well that they took off for the photos.  And there were a ton of photos.  Edwards Gardens, in Toronto, has a lot of great locations on its grounds.  It still had a few places with brilliant autumn colours.  I had an absolute blast doing my job here with this great couple.  They listened to all my suggestions and happily posed in various spots around Edwards Gardens.  Engagement photography is a great way for a couple to become comfortable and familiar with their wedding photographer.  After spending a couple of hours with them I can honestly say they are one of the most caring, fun and down-to-earth people you can meet.  I hope the photos here can tell their story and you can glimpse a little of what I said about them.  I’m looking forward to photographing their wedding in February.  Here are some photos from their e-session.

On a beautiful day in October I travelled to Mississauga to the St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church to take pictures of a Baptism.  Nila is about 4.5 months old and it was her special day.  This was definitely one of the most beautiful churches I have been in.  It is only 10 years old as well, although once you walk in you can’t help but exclaim “wow” as you are taken back almost a century.  Along with Nila’s parents, Katie and Michael they had invited family members and friends to witness this event.  Here are some pictures from this day.

Sometimes its difficult to stay in touch with your friends in a big city like Toronto.  Especially as the distance can be a factor in determining how many visits can be made.  Peter is a good friend of mine, one I have known since high school.  He came by with his lovely wife, Dorothy and their two kids, Oliver and Lenna.  I’ve recently had my first child, Keanu who is 19 days old today and it was great for all of us to meet again.  In general family photography is something I greatly enjoy, but when it involves good friends, its just makes it that much more special.  It will be awesome seeing all the little ones grow up.  Here are a few shots from this autumn day in Toronto.  Toronto Family Photographers in a parkToronto Family Photography in a parkFamily photography in TorontoChildren portraits in a park in TorontoPeter Turek posing for a portrait in a park in TorontoFun family photographer in TorontoFun family photographer in TorontoToronto Family PhotographerToronto Couples PhotographerToronto Couples Photography

Not too long ago I met Keira, age 5 months, at her home to document a part of her day in which she would get Baptised.  I started off taking some pictures of her family helping her get dressed in her special outfit and then we went to St. Mary’s of the Angels Church in Toronto for the Baptism ceremony.  At first there was a 1-hour long mass and then immediately afterwards, Keira was baptised with her family proudly present.  Here are some of those pictures from that day.

This was a wedding that had tears, laughter and more tears.  Jackie Robinson wears her heart on her sleeve and apparently her bridesmaids got the memo.  I think it is a good thing that Shawn’s heart is a little more entrenched in his chest.  Otherwise I might have shed some tears myself.  Having said that, there was a ton of laughter, smiling and happy moments as well.  The day was gorgeous and the venue, Hockley Valley resort in Orangeville had some very nice locations to take portraits.  It is about an hour and a half from Toronto.  I had the pleasure of having Terri Creechan 2nd shooting with me and some of the photos below are hers.  Here are the photos from that day.  Make yourself a coffee, its a long one!
