Back in April of this year I ran this online contest for all couples, whether they were engaged, married or just dating.  The winning couple, Karina and Aleks beat out over 55 other contestants in a draw.  They decided on Casa Loma, in Toronto, as their choice destination for these photos.  It was a hot and very humid day with a chance of thundershowers.  I had brought my wife Nanna with me to this shoot as she is often helpful in chatting with the couples and making them feel more at ease.  When Karina and Aleks arrived, we both said “wow” in unison as Karina looked beautiful and glamorous.  Anna Karapetyan from AK Makeup did a wonderful job with her hair and makeup.  After some photos on the various floors and different rooms of the castle, the rains came down fast and furious.  When it finally stopped we took photos for about 10 minutes before the rain resumed and we concluded at that point.  I didn’t get a chance to take a photo of the castle in all its glory but i’m hoping to get another chance some day.  And finally, as the winners of the contest, they also received a gift basket from Zara Minasyan from Forever Products.  Here are some photos from that day.

I shot Jessica and Kenneth’s beautiful outdoor wedding at the DiamondBack Golf Club, just north of Toronto.  The day was filled with nerves, laughter, joy and sweltering heat.  They are of South Korean descent and all their family members and friends made me feel very welcome.  Here are some pictures from that day.

David - What a fantastic job Paul! I adore the shot of the boy and girl walking down the isle and all that smoke on the dance floor. So much emotion and love in every shot, and collectively a wonderful record of the day.ReplyCancel

Karina and Aleks were the winners of this contest that I had run a couple of months ago. Here is a quick preview.  We went to Casa Loma in Toronto, and took some photos on this hot and humid day before moving outside for a couple of shots before the rains came back.

Today I rented the Zeiss 100mm f/2.0 Makro-Planar T ZE lens for the weekend and I took this shot of my wife’s engagement ring and my wedding ring.  Its very sharp and the DOF is awesome.  I would not even have come close to this with my Canon 85mm f/1.2 lens – which isn’t a macro lens, of course.  Looking forward to using it at this weekend’s wedding.
