Old Montreal

Montreal is always fun to visit.  Specifically Old Montreal.  I visited in early June along with my 21-month old son, and wife.  We took the VIA Train from Union Station and it was a comfortable 5-hour train ride.  The little guy loved it as he kept looking for “ewopwanes” and “howses” and “cows” through the large window.  The weather was gorgeous and we first visited Montreal’s famous Botanical Gardens via the Montreal Metro which is not very stroller friendly, we found out.  Had to carry the stroller up and down the stairs at the different stops we used.  The Gardens are huge and very nice, although in this blog post only the final two pictures are from that place.  On this trip, I didn’t bring my digital cameras, except for my iPhone5s which is always with me.  Instead I bought some Kodak Ektar 120 film and shot 3 rolls of it with my Pentax 645n medium format camera.  I love cobblestone streets and patios with different flags and the different colours and tones of the old buildings.  Old Montreal, specifically Rue St. Paul, doesn’t dissapoint in that aspect.  It is very different than the rest of the city or even country, you could say.  There are a lot of people there too as it a pretty popular destination.  Here are some photos from this trip.
