2011 – A good Year

Thank you.

Everyone!

I love taking pictures.  Capturing moments.  Happy, sad, joyful, emotional and all in between.  In colour and in black and white.  Horizontal, vertical or square format.  Most of those photos involve people.  The human element.  And that’s why I would like to thank each and every person that I have shot and forever ingrained in a digital file.  My clients have been terrific and have made my job easier and more fun to do.  Happy, excited and open-minded are three ways I would describe most of them.  I look forward to my photoshoots in a different kind of way one would anticipate seeing a great movie.  I’m in control of the outcome and that feeling is difficult to describe.  Its almost like having an empty canvas and you are about to paint…anything.  We can be limited by location, sunlight, etc but in terms of that human element (which includes all those emotions + composition), it is unlimited.

And its not just happy faces and beautiful flowers.  Its the essence and  personality of you.  This is what excites me.  The entire process from composition to camera setup to lens selection to pressing the shutter button and finally editing. I love it all.  And I am never ever bored by it because each time is different.  Each second something great may happen and its my job to document it, and I couldn’t ask for anything more.

From shooting a wedding in Mexico to shots of a pig roast in Nicaragua to sightseeing in southern Spain to all the other great locations it has been a thrilling 2011.

And last but not least I would like to thank Nanna.  My fiancé and the love of my life.  She has not only been fully supportive of my passion but has also become my favourite model.  Thank you Nanusia.

Here’s to hoping that 2012 will be much greater.  Cheers!
